We hope everyone had a great time this weekend celebrating the important women in their lives! At TSS, we invited families to come and participate in some fun activities our teachers set up for their families.

Infant Room had photobooths to take memorable photos in, Toddler 1 engaged in outdoor mural painting, Toddler 2 did some planting, Preschool 1 had an art studio, Preschool 2 made friendship bracelets, and Preschool 3 created photo frames! Every classroom was buzzing with activity and laughter.

Thank you to everyone who came in. We had such a spectacular time watching our families make connections with each other and get even closer to their child's teachers. We are looking forward to our next parent engagement event!

Our preschool classroom had the pleasure of welcom

Our preschool classroom had the pleasure of welcoming Mazarine Memon (@mazarinememon), an award-winning artist. She was excited at the chance to engage in some process art with our young children.

Children were provided with a large piece of mural paper. After selecting a marker, Maz encouraged them to try different ways of moving the utensil on the paper. We jumped, hopped, climbed, and bounced with our colours. It was a collaborative art piece with every child being asked to expand on their thoughts and ideas along the way.

Once complete, Maz brought out the toy animals to see how children would incorporate it into their art.

Overall, the children had a fantastic and enriching experience using their everyday materials in a new way.

One of our marvelous families brought in @hfd.toronto to help celebrate their child's birthday! For someone who thoroughly enjoys dance parties on a regular basis, bringing in some movement experts was perfect.

Children were guided through different movement experiences using their bodies, ribbons, shakers, and bean bags. With a playlist of neverending amazing songs, everyone had a great time!

Preschoolers spent a week talking all about Endangered Species. They posed questions wondering how these animals are being negatively impacted and explored ways to help them. One of the reasons that repeatedly came up was how humans are leaving garbage behind in their habitats. Using a hands-on sensory experience involving magnets, this classroom helped save the Arctic animals from all the garbage polluting their space! 🐻‍❄

Take a look at what our brilliant chef crested for us to celebrate St. Patrick's Day! 🍀 We love a good spirit day! 💚 Not only did we see a lot of green, but children were also introduced to colcannon - a deliciously creamy mashed potato with braised cabbage.

For morning snack we had,
- avocado toast 🥑
- pot of gold smoothie 🏆

For lunch we had,
- crispy cod nuggets 🐟
- peas and corn 🫛🌽
- colcannon 🥔

For afternoon snack we had,

During the ❄️ polar vortex ❄️ where our children were inside, we brought in a professional puppeteers to switch things up! Chickadeedee (Leslieville) came in to teach our preschoolers all about the world of puppetry! From an immersive gross motor experience to learning about the different types of puppets, children enjoyed this interactive opportunity. We saw puppets of all sizes and materials! At the end, children had the chance to try their own hand at putting on a little puppet show. 👏
