One of our marvelous families brought in @hfd.toronto to help celebrate their child's birthday! For someone who thoroughly enjoys dance parties on a regular basis, bringing in some movement experts was perfect.

Children were guided through different movement experiences using their bodies, ribbons, shakers, and bean bags. With a playlist of neverending amazing songs, everyone had a great time!

Preschoolers spent a week talking all about Endangered Species. They posed questions wondering how these animals are being negatively impacted and explored ways to help them. One of the reasons that repeatedly came up was how humans are leaving garbage behind in their habitats. Using a hands-on sensory experience involving magnets, this classroom helped save the Arctic animals from all the garbage polluting their space! 🐻‍❄

Take a look at what our brilliant chef crested for us to celebrate St. Patrick's Day! 🍀 We love a good spirit day! 💚 Not only did we see a lot of green, but children were also introduced to colcannon - a deliciously creamy mashed potato with braised cabbage.

For morning snack we had,
- avocado toast 🥑
- pot of gold smoothie 🏆

For lunch we had,
- crispy cod nuggets 🐟
- peas and corn 🫛🌽
- colcannon 🥔

For afternoon snack we had,
- banana mookies 🍌🍪
- green grapes 🍇

Celebrating Lunar New Year at Two Short Storeys! 🧧 Our preschoolers dove into the culture with hands-on fun: digging for treasures in a festive sensory bin, mastering Chinese characters, practicing elegant calligraphy, crafting colorful lanterns, snuggling up for story time, counting with red envelopes, and creating vibrant artwork! During the ❄️ polar vortex ❄️ where our children were inside, we brought in a professional puppeteers to switch things up! Chickadeedee (Leslieville) came in to teach our preschoolers all about the world of puppetry! From an immersive gross motor experience to learning about the different types of puppets, children enjoyed this interactive opportunity. We saw puppets of all sizes and materials! At the end, children had the chance to try their own hand at putting on a little puppet show. 👏
